Ally Queen, aged fifteen, is the new kid in a very small town. Life is tough when your closest friend is miles away and deep and meaningful conversations are restricted to the length of a text message. And Ally needs a friend. Her mum is suffering post-traumatic stress disorder and the quiet country life, which was meant to help things, just seems to make them worse.
