Indigenous authors find international audiences

Readers in South Korea and Italy will soon be able to enjoy the work of Indigenous authors Sally Morgan, Tjalaminu Mia and Blaze Kwaymullina, among others.

My Place by Sally Morgan will be published in South Korea by Joonang Books, while Heartsick for Country, a powerful collection of personal stories about the heartfelt connection Aboriginal Australians feel for their countries, will be published in Italy by Le Nuove Muse.

In the education sector, My Place is a set text in secondary and university courses in France, Australia and the USA, while Heartsick for Country is gaining popularity as alibrary text in secondary schools across Australia.

Sally Morgan and Tjalaminu Mia will be appearing at the All Saints Literature Festival in Perth in March 2009 and Blaze Kwaymullina will join them both at the Perth Writers Festival in February 2009.
