Submissions

Summer break: please be aware that Fremantle Press will not receive unsolicited manuscripts between 18 December 2015 and 1 March 2016.

Fremantle Press welcomes unsolicited manuscripts from authors of Western Australian origin or whose main place of residence is Western Australia. Work by non–Western Australian authors will be considered when the subject matter has a strong Western Australian focus. This applies to all genres we publish.

Submission process

Receipt of submissions will only be acknowledged where an email address is supplied.

We endeavour to assess all submissions within three months but occasionally it may take longer. We reply to all submissions and will contact you as soon as a decision has been made. Please resist calling to ask how your submission is faring – when there is news you will be the first to hear.

We receive over 500 manuscripts each year and generally cannot provide individual feedback or assistance in the early stages of manuscript development. If you would like further information about writing and getting published we suggest you visit the website of writingWA.

Fremantle Press does not consider submissions in the genres of fantasy, romance, children's textbooks and graphic novels.

Manuscripts should have a title page listing manuscript title, author, contact person (if not the author), postal address, email address and phone number.

Manuscripts should be typed, page-numbered and printed on one side of A4 paper. Submissions via email, USB or disk CANNOT be considered.

Please DO NOT send original artwork or photographs. We prefer to receive photocopies of all visual material in the first instance.

Please DO NOT send the sole copy of your work. While every care is taken, Fremantle Press cannot accept responsibility for loss or damage of submission material.

Please indicate if you wish your submission material to be returned by post, collected or recycled. If you require its return by post, please supply a stamped self-addressed envelope of appropriate size.

Submissions should be delivered to:

PO Box 158
