    Bill Bunbury

    Born in the UK, Bill Bunbury attended King’s School, Bruton, and graduated from Durham University with BA Hons. Lit. He came to Australia in 1963 and worked as a Producer with the ABC’s Education unit, then Social History unit from 1969 to 2007. Bill has since taken up the position of Adjunct Professor of History and Media at Murdoch University. Read more

    B.R. Coffey attended the Western Australian Institute of Technology and Murdoch University, and has taught Creative Writing. He has had work published in journals and anthologies and is the former publisher and managing director of Fremantle Press. In 2005 he was made a Member of the Order of Australia for his services to Australian literature. Read more

    T.A.G. Hungerford

    Thomas Arthur Guy Hungerford was born in 1915 and grew up in South Perth. He served as a soldier in World War II before travelling to Japan with the British Commonwealth Occupation Force after the war. In 1948 he moved to Canberra, where he worked for the Australian War Memorial and began to write. In 1988 the T.A.G. Hungerford Award for unpublished Australian writers was created in his name. He died in 2011. Read more

    Elizabeth Jolley (b.1923 d.2007)

    Elizabeth Jolley was born in the industrial Midlands of England and came to Western Australia in 1959 with her husband. She published twenty-three books, including novels, short fiction, poetry, non-fiction and plays. Celebrated as one of Australia’s major writers, she also established a formidable international reputation, with her books being widely published throughout the world. She received an Order of Australia for services to Australian literature and was awarded honorary doctorates from four universities. Read more

    Sally Morgan

    Sally Morgan was born in Perth, in 1951. She has published books for both adults and children, including her acclaimed autobiography, My Place. She has also established a national reputation as an artist and has works in many private and public collections. Read more

    Glyn Parry

    Glyn Parry was born in the north-east of England. For some years he taught high school English and was a teacher-librarian. Glyn has been a ministerial appointment to the State Library Board of WA, the National Advisory Council of the ABC, and the Literature Board of the Australia Council. He is a keenly sought public speaker. Read more
