    Dafne Bidwell was born in England and grew up in Ireland. After working as a university librarian in Dublin, she joined the British Secret Service (MI6) and operated in Asia. She married Peter Jones in Penang, and their five children are Malaysian-born. She travelled extensively, finally settling in Perth. Dafne said she had always written stories at odd moments, but when her youngest son started school, there was time to discover if she could write seriously.
