Perth-born poet Caitlin Maling is returning to her home state for a weekend of poetry and music at the upcoming eleventh annual Denmark Festival of Voice, 29–31 May.
The Fremantle Press author will be performing at three events over the weekend. In various Denmark venues, Caitlin will share readings from her latest book, Conversations I've never had, and from a manuscript she is currently working on.
Caitlin’s first collection looks at the landscapes of her childhood and is, at heart, a poetry of place.
‘Most of these poems are looking at WA – a lot about down south – so it will be great to read them in situ,’ said Caitlin.
Currently living in Sydney where she is completing a PhD, Caitlin will conduct research for her next poetry collection while in Perth.
Made up of free and ticketed events, the intimate festival run by Denmark Arts brings a line-up of local, national and international artists in a cappella and accompanied ensemble, group and individual performances. Conversations I've never had is available from all good bookstores and fremantlepress.com.au.
