Author and illustrator Kelly Canby will be pulling on her PJs on Monday 25 March for a picture book launch with a difference.
Kelly said, ‘I’m very excited, and honoured, to have Subiaco Library host the launch for Rodney in Western Australia. They’re providing pizza and cupcakes, and everyone must wear pyjamas. It’s going to be loads of fun and I can’t wait to introduce everyone to Rodney.’
The book will be launched by fellow WA author and illustrator Kylie Howarth and Kelly will also be illustrating one of the windows in the library with a huge jungle, as well as providing activity sheets so that children can colour in animals and stick them on the window for a snazzy display.
Rodney is a gorgeously illustrated picture book about a small tortoise with a big dream. All he wants is to be taller so that he can see what’s up among the highest treetops. But as Rodney dreams his way through the jungle, he discovers that sometimes you don’t need to be big to enjoy the world.
Copies of Rodney will be on sale on the night thanks to Dymocks Subiaco. For more information and to reserve your free ticket for the launch, click here.
