This year saw Margaret Rose Stringer, author of And Then Like My Dreams, launch herself upon a program of author talks at a number of local Sydney libraries. Catch Margaret Rose at her last author talk for the year at Castle Hill Library on 28 November.
‘I have found this a very gratifying experience, in which audience reactions have never been less than completely positive,’ said Margaret Rose.
And Then Like My Dreams was written after Margaret Rose found a drawing her late husband had done many years previously.
‘The drawing gave me focus, and over the following several years I wrote what I had originally planned to be my late husband’s story but which was, of course, the story of us both,’ said Margaret Rose.
Margaret’s talk will focus on her experiences of writing and publishing a book in an effort to educate aspiring authors.
‘I have fined down my talk to a record of my own journey – from its starting point of never having written anything more than a letter to its completion at publication by a highly respected WA publishing house,’ said Margaret Rose.
