Perth Writers Festival goes purple

January 28, 2016

Authors will be coming from far and wide to answer the question ‘What does the colour purple mean to you?’ at the 2016 Perth Writers Festival.

Purple Prose will be launched by Rosemary Sayer at 5.30 pm on Saturday 20 February in the Tropical Grove at the University of Western Australia.

Along with co-editors Rachel Robertson and Liz Byrski, four of the authors featured in the book will read extracts from the short pieces of memoir they wrote in response to the colour purple.
They include Fremantle author Annamaria Weldon, Hanifa Deen from Melbourne, Tracy Farr from New Zealand and Jacqueline Wright from Broome.

Purple Prose introduces fifteen new works of non-fiction by Australian women writers. Other contributors include Amanda Curtin, Lily Chan, Sarah Drummond, Lucy Dougan, Deborah Hunn, Natasha Lester, Toni Jordan, Anne Manne and Rosemary Stevens.

Entry is free and we hope to see you all there. You can rsvp here.

Purple Prose is available now from all good bookstores and online.
