John Long
John Long is Head of Sciences at Museum Victoria. His research expeditions have taken him to Australia, Antarctica, Africa, South-East Asia and the Middle East, searching for fossil fishes, dinosaurs and the mega fauna. He has named more than 50 species of extinct animals, and written more than 25 books, 130 scientific papers and 80 popular articles. In 2001 he won the prestigious Eureka Prize for the Public Promotion of Science. In 2006 he won the Wilderness Society Award for Children’s Environmental Literature, and the Australian Publishers Award for Best Primary Reference book.
