Miles Franklin winner Kim Scott

NEWS: Kim Scott tours Germany

Miles Franklin Award winner Kim Scott will commence a book tour of Germany in October 2009.

His paper, ‘Apologies, Agency and Resilience’, will be presented at a symposium called The Australian “History Wars” Revisited on 6 October. The symposium is organised by the Free University of Berlin and will also feature Reading the Country author Stephen Muecke plus Bain Attwood, and James Boyce.

Following the symposium, Scott will read from his award-winning novels and his acclaimed work of non-fiction, Kayang and Me, at a public event hosted by the Australian Embassy in Berlin on 7 October. He will also be a guest speaker for students at the Johann Wolfgang Goethe University in Frankfurt on 9 October.

Scott’s visit to Germany is co-sponsored by the Free University of Berlin, the Cultural Fund of CAL, and Fremantle Press.
