The first edition of A Fortunate Life by A.B. Facey

VALE: Barbara Rose

30th November 2010

We would like to extend our condolences to the Facey family who are currently grieving Barbara Rose, A.B. Facey’s daughter.

Barbara was the family member who brought the manuscript of A Fortunate Life to Fremantle Press with a view to printing 100 copies to be distributed amongst his grandchildren. Editorial staff read the manuscript and decided to make an offer for publication within the Press program.

Bert was living with Barbara when his book was published.

“Going to her house to sign the publishing contract with Bert as the start of a long association between Barbara and the Press,” said Clive Newman.

“We were in regular contact over the years and she will be missed by all who knew her”.
