IN BRIEF: Rights sales

Romanian language rights for Marcella Polain’s historical novel The Edge of the World were licensed to Ararat s.r.l. this month.
The Edge of the World, which was shortlisted for a Commonwealth Writers’ Prize in 2008, is a powerful story about a family of Armenians fragmented by genocide, exile and emigration who are eventually reunited – albeit utterly changed.
In other rights news this month Vision Australia purchased the audio rights to Spinner by Ron Elliott and Bolinda will publish a new audio edition of My Place by Sally Morgan.

Ten Tiny Things on Wilderness Society shortlist
Ten Tiny Things author Meg McKinlay was pleasantly surprised to be shortlisted for the Wilderness Society’s 2013 Environment Award for Children’s Literature, just one day after winning a Crystal Kite award.
