UPCOMING: Dagger shortlisted crime

13th August 2010

New Fremantle Press crime writer, Alan Carter, was shortlisted for the United Kingdom’s prestigious CWA Debut Dagger Award in 2010.

Carter was one of 11 to make the cut from a pool of several hundred entries worldwide. Organisers said picking a shortlist had proved harder than ever with entries up by 32% on the previous year.

Carter’s story will be published as Prime Cut in February 2010. It follows the adventures of disgraced cop Cato Kwong who is brought in from the cold to solve the case of a torso washed up on the beach in Western Australia’s Great Southern.

The Debut Dagger is a writing competition open to anyone writing in the English language not previously published commercially.
