Kings Park exhibits Wildflower Country
13th August 2010
Award-winning photographers Stanley and Kaisa Breeden will exhibit works from their new book Wildflower Country in Kings Park. An outdoor macro exhibition will be on display throughout the month of September as part of the Kings Park Festival.
Thirty-four larger-than-life images from Wildflower Country: Discovering Biodiversity in Australia’s Southwest will be shown in celebration of the 2010 International Year of Biodiversity. The Southwest of Western Australia is one of only two internationally recognised biodiversity hotspots in Australia.
The authors, who are in Western Australia for their book launch, said there were few places on earth with such a variety of wildflowers of brilliant colour, exciting forms and diverse textures.
They said their book, which is the culmination of six years of research and pioneering digital photography techniques, was a celebration of the beauty and inspiration that the greatest possible variety of life brings.
Wildflower Country, will be launched at Lavan Legal on Wednesday 18 August by the Curator of the Western Australian Herbarium, Kevin Thiele, with a speech by the Honourable Colin Barnett, MLA, Premier of Western Australia. RSVP: admin@fremantlepress.com.au or 08 9430 6331.
