More children’s books head to Asia
12th August 2010
Building on successful rights sales into South Korea and India, Fremantle Press has secured three new sales in Asia.
In 2011 Domain Media Ltd in China will publish a simplified Chinese edition of Crocodile Cake, a picture book by Palo Morgan and Chris Nixon, which has been shortlisted for a 2008 Western Australian Premier’s Award. An English language edition of The Other Bears, by debut author and illustrator Michael Thompson, is also scheduled for release by Sunbear Publishing in Singapore and Indonesia in late 2010.
Foreign Rights Manager Clive Newman said there was increasing interest in Fremantle Press children’s books in both Asia and Europe.
“Children’s books are leading our rights sales this year with three new sales in Europe and five new sales in Asia,” said Newman.
Clive Newman will be representing Fremantle Press at the Frankfurt Book Fair in October 2010.
