New Ambassador to the USA records father’s memoir
20th October 2009
Australian Ambassador to the United States Kim C. Beazley (MP) has recorded the audio version of his father’s memoir Father of the House for the Association for the Blind – Guide Dogs WA.
Beazley, who also agreed to be the Association’s Ambassador, spent nine weeks recording the memoir. In the Association’s media release Beazley said the process was exhausting.
“‘I was very surprised at how difficult it was to record the book.
“My father was a very modest man; audio recording his novel required intense concentration and was very confronting for me,” he said.
Father of the House by Kim E Beazley is the inside story of one of Australia’s longest serving and most influential Ministers in Federal Parliament.
Fremantle Press published the print edition in January 2009, which quickly sold-out. The second edition is in all good bookstores now or can be purchased here.
