Leon Gettler

Leon Gettler was born in Melbourne in 1958. The son of Polish Jewish immigrants who had spent seven years in Stalin’s Soviet Union, Gettler grew up in a Yiddish-speaking household and only began speaking English after he started school. Gettler lives with his wife and two children in Melbourne. He enjoys reading, running marathons and playing the saxophone.
