About the Book

Bhutan Heartland

by Robert van Koesveld and Libby Lloyd

This stunning photographic journey goes straight to the heart of Bhutan – a Buddhist country on the cusp of opening its doors to the West.

It explores the culture, history, beliefs and dazzling Himalayan landscapes of the world’s newest democracy taking us into the lives of its people as their country enters the modern world.

The result is a book of brilliant and evocative photographs and stories about this remote mountain kingdom.

About the authors:
Robert van Koesveld and Libby Lloyd set aside successful careers in psychotherapy and social work to focus on the delights of travel and photography. Between them they have hitchhiked around Australia, over-landed from Kathmandu to London in 1970, canoed down the Sepik River in pre-independent Papua New Guinea and explored Bhutan, Laos, Cambodia, Vietnam, China, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, India, Malaysia, Mali, Morocco, Cuba and Europe.
