Roger McDonald
Roger McDonald was born at Lambing Flat (now Young), New South Wales, and educated at country schools and in Sydney. He is the author of many novels dealing with many aspects of the Australian experience, including the prizewinning 1915 and Mr Darwin’s Shooter. His account of travelling through the outback with a team of New Zealand shearers, Shearers’ Motel, was awarded the 1993 National Book Award for non-fiction.
