Louise Schofield

A former senior journalist with The Australian newspaper, Louise is the author of ten books including the picture book The Zoo Room (illustrator Malcolm Geste) and younger reader novel Secrets in the Tingle Forest. The latter was a winner in the 2004 WA Young Readers Book Awards and short listed in the 2004 Wilderness Society Environment Awards for Children’s Literature. The Southern Forest Sculpture Walk, Northcliffe, features another story inspired by WA’s southern forests, Forest Music, which may be hired by visitors as an audio-tour. She is working on a number of new book projects. Louise is founder and co-ordinator of the month-long heart lines festival of children’s literature and book illustration held in Mundaring every two years.
