Dafne Bidwell
Dafne Bidwell was born in England and grew up in Ireland. After working as a university librarian in Dublin, she joined the British Secret Service (MI6) and operated in Asia. She married Peter Jones in Penang, and their five children are Malaysian-born. She travelled extensively, finally settling in Perth. Dafne said she had always written stories at odd moments, but when her youngest son started school, there was time to discover if she could write seriously. She sat at her typewriter with no plan or plot, and what emerged three weeks later was an adventure novel for children. It was the first of four to be published. When not writing, she loves painting, music, tennis and being around children.
