Noel Crusz
Noel Crusz was born in Sri Lanka and came to Australia in 1974. He trained in broadcasting at the BBC London and he broadcast on London’s Home Service programs and from Radio Eireann, Hilversum, Cologne and Berne. He was a newsreader for Vatican Radio and broadcast on the ‘Voice of America’. He was Director of Radio Ceylon’s ‘Catholic Hour Programme’ and produced radio features, plays and interviews. He was a scriptwriter for the Ceylon government film unit’s weekly newsreels and also directed and filmed many features and documentaries. Noel Crusz taught for many years in Sydney’s high schools. As a puppeteer, he belonged to the New South Wales Puppet Guild and worked with the doyen of puppetry, Edith Murray. He died in 2006.
