Kim Torney
Dr Kim Torney was awarded her PhD, from which this book emerged, by the University of Melbourne in 2003. Her interest in the topic of lost children grew from the disturbing childhood experience of reading the classic story, ‘Lost in the Bush’ in a primary school reader. She became fascinated by the way in which a relatively uncommon experience had become a type of national icon and wanted to examine why this was.
