Diana Chase
Born in 1935 in Guildford, Western Australia, Diana Chase spent much of her childhood with her mother’s family on dairy farms in the south-west, where she developed an early passion for all animals, particularly ducks, dogs and horses. A qualified teacher and historian, Diana taught at various schools, in Western Australia and overseas. Surf’s Up (2000), won the Hoffman Award given to the highest ranked book by an Australian author and as chosen by young Western Australian readers.
Diana Chase died in 2008. Her talent and dedication to the craft of writing will be missed.
