FAQ about Consultancy Projects
What is consultancy or project management?
Fremantle Press is often approached by individuals and organisations wishing to engage the services of skilled industry professionals to ensure the success of their publishing project. These projects are usually large-format, pictorial works such as corporate and community histories, fine art catalogues or specialist academic publications.
What consultancy services does Fremantle Press provide?
Fremantle Press provides editing, proof reading, design, print production, sales, marketing and distribution expertise. Sometimes clients want their entire project managed from unedited text and raw images through to delivery of finished books; others only require print management, marketing and distribution assistance.
Who is consultancy expert Jane Fraser?
Jane Fraser joined Fremantle Press as non-fiction publisher with a wealth of experience in the production of large-format illustrated books. Her speciality is working on labour intensive books such as glossy photographic books, cookbooks, gardening and natural histories. Jane works closely with talented group of production and marketing people – editor, proof reader, fact checker, designer, photographer or illustrator, printer and the sales and marketing team – to deliver publishing projects on time and within budget.
What does it cost?
Costs vary based on the scope of the project required. Publishing is costly but Fremantle Press provides competitive rates based on industry standards. For a no obligation quote, contact Jane Fraser on 08 9430 6331 or jfraser@fremantlepress.com.au.
I’ve already published a book but need to get it into shops. Can Fremantle Press help?
Fremantle Press distributes a small and very select number of high quality publications for authors and organisations. Fremantle Press distributes books using the Wilmot Book Agency in Western Australia and Penguin Books for all other states and territories. Book distribution is undertaken on a consignment-only basis and attracts a distribution fee. For all enquiries about sales, marketing and distribution contact Clive Newman on 08 9430 6331 or cnewman@fremantlepress.com.au
Who should use Fremantle Press?
Any organisation or individual who would like a quality publication produced to national and international industry standards. As a publishing house with a 30-year track record across all genres and all formats (fiction, non-fiction, poetry, children’s books) we have the expertise to turn every project into a quality publication.
Many of our clients have a small and specialised market to whom they sell their books direct but at retail rates, so they require a very high standard of production and finish. Other clients also want to sell through trade outlets either locally or nationally which is why our marketing and distribution services and skills are so attractive.
Why use Fremantle Press instead of self-publishing or going directly to a printer?
Booksellers can be wary of self-published books because they do not guarantee editorial or production quality and precision. If a book has been through the meticulous workings of a publishing house such as Fremantle Press, it has rigour and authority for which customers are willing to pay standard retail prices.
